Hey, I’m Carmen!
I’m a small town, beach girl from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In 2017, I moved to Wilmington, NC, where I attended school and started my blog. More recently, I graduated as a Communication Studies major, specializing in Integrated Marketing Communication, while also receiving a minor in Leadership Studies. Now, I’m working towards developing into a full time blogger, social media manager, and virtual assistant!
I love Netflix, running the Wrightsville Beach loop, finding new music, painting my nails, and spending lots of time on Pinterest! When I’m not doing those things, I’m hanging out with friends, working on the blog, social media marketing, or working out.
A little over a year ago, I was diagnosed with 4 mental health disorders: anxiety, depression, OCD, and bipolar disorder. Ever since, I’ve put a focus on learning and bettering myself while helping others in the same space.
I created The SOP because of a personal development book series (written by Rachel Hollis) that completely changed my perspective. Because of that series, I was able to turn my life around. And since I’d like to think that I’ve learned a few things over the years, I’m hoping that I can share some knowledge that will have the same effect on someone else.
One of my biggest goals in sharing my story is changing the stigma on mental health disorders. But I also hope to inspire, encourage, and motivate other women to unapologetically become their best selves. ❤️
